From the President
Dear Members and Friends of the LCAC,
Once again, we gather to celebrate what was a fast and productive year of
preservation. As our 30th anniversary year, it seemed particularly exciting. It
was certainly full of advancements toward our simple, but everlasting
mission.
This is a fine time to remember where we've been and where we're going. As
expected, our membership, funding partners, volunteers, event sponsors, and
most importantly our benefactors came together to pull the wagon in the
same important direction.
We should pride ourselves in not only maintaining momentum, but
accelerating it by moving quickly and efficiently on projects. On efficiency, our
two staff members do great work to manage our resources so carefully.
Immense gratitude to both of them for their commitment!
This was a bittersweet year due to a change in our conservation director.
Sarah Kipp, who spent 16 years spearheading our preservation efforts, has
taken a wonderful position on the west coast. She brought immeasurable
value to our organization and will be missed dearly. All our best to her!
On the other hand, we hired our new conservation director, Morgan Huckaby,
after a competitive search full of excellent candidates. Morgan quickly rose to
the top and we are delighted she is on our team! Please join me in welcoming
her.
So much done, so much to do. Thanks to all of you for making our magnificent
land trust continue to punch above its weight. Let's do it again!
